Becoming a Golf Coach

Been made redundant ? Taken early retirement ? Desperate for a change ?

Thought about becoming a golf coach and want to put something back into the game but not sure how or where ? Read on.........

Background

Unlike other sports, golf is unusual in that it has relatively few amateur coaches. Rugby, hockey and tennis, for example, have many amateur coaches trained by their respective associations through their various training schemes. Additionally there are independent “training providers” running various training courses for players who want to coach on a full-time professional basis.

At one time the only way to become a golf teacher was to join the PGA and follow the lengthy qualification process. However, it was recognised that there are golfers who would dearly love to “put something back into the game” and learn to teach golf but were not prepared to spend three years in a pros shop selling tees & Mars Bars !

Life experience does count in becoming a coach. Firstly in the US and later in Europe, other training providers started up “teaching golfers to teach golf” meeting a need for golf teachers/coaches, not only in Europe but overseas in the countries where golf is a fast growing sport.

There is therefore competition amongst golf training providers – the Golf Coaching & Clubfitting Society's aim is to provide the very best training available.

What makes this Course different from the others on offer ?

It is a high quality Course designed only for those who want to be in the top flight of golf coaches. The comprehensive syllabus is superior to other courses. The combination of the “Correspondence Course” and the practical “Golf Coach Course” delivers a more competent golf coach.  This high quality training is delivered only on a “one-to-one” basis or one-to-two basis.

(the timing of “one-to one” Courses can be tailored to suit your requirements)
